Wash chicken breasts under cold tap water, place them on the cutting board or clean, dry counter, and dry with paper towels or napkins.
Tap chicken breasts everywhere with the mallet, making sure not to hit the chicken pieces too hard so as not to tear the meat.
Dip each chicken breast in the low-fat sour cream and turn until completely covered.
Batter each chicken breast in the breadcrumbs, once again, turn them until they are completely covered, and then place them in the hot pan.
Sprinkle garlic and onion powder everywhere on each piece of chicken (garlic and onion powder are optional). You can use onion powder more abundantly than with garlic powder. Too much garlic powder can be overwhelming for many people.

You can turn chicken breasts more than once to make sure they are browned on both sides. Check your chicken after approximately thirty minutes to see if the pieces have browned on top. If they are golden, turn them.
Prick the breasts with a meat fork to see if they are made. If the juices that come out are clear, they are made. You can also take a knife and make a cut in chicken breasts. If the meat is firm and white, the chicken is made.
Remove chicken breasts of the pan and place them on a plate or dish. If you have steamed vegetables or potato wedges to accompany the chicken breasts, you can place them on the outside of the chicken pieces to facilitate serving or to create a more attractive dish.
